The Recorder at Coyote Hills
At Coyote Hills, children in third through fifth grades play the recorder. At many schools, the recorder is often part of a four-week unit in the third grade. However, at Coyote Hills this predecessor to the modern flute is an integral part of the music program in third, fourth, and fifth grade. Children play the recorder almost every class period, and are often given additional challenges for home practice.
I am sure you have seen recorders for sale at the local grocery and discount stores. Many times, these instruments are brightly colored or come with a small book of popular songs. While these instruments are often quite affordable, they are not generally of the highest quality.
To ensure that our students are getting the best musical experience possible, I am making recorders available for purchase through Coyote Hills. These high quality instruments are much better than the ones offered in local stores, come with a carrying case, and will be engraved with your son or daughter’s name.
If you are interested, please send cash or a check for $10. Please be sure to put your money in an envelope with your son or daughter’s name. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call me at 720-886-3940 or send me an email at pcribari@cherrycreekschools.org.
